In case you do not know what affirmations are, they are tools that people who believe in the New Age, and the New Thought systems, use to address unwanted conditions in their lives? Affirmations are sometimes written down and sometimes they are statements that the individuals repeat verbally either aloud or to themselves.
Affirmations are statements that are positive affirming the control the person has over their life. These statements are meant to focus on the positive outcome of the situation that the individual is concerned with. When an individual who is using affirmations is looking for work they will say repeatedly “I am going to find a good job soon” where other individuals who are looking for work might say “I hope I find work soon”. Repeatedly affirming that the outcome of the job search will be a good job creates confidence in the individual and they are more likely to get a good job as a result of this confidence.
Affirmations are simply statements that are used to prove the old saying of if you can see it then you can be it. If you can visualize the positive things happening in your life then you are more likely to have positive things happening in your life. If you constantly imagine that the worst is going to happen then more than likely you make these things become a reality because you are not going to stick your neck out.
Affirmations are confidence boosters. If you truly believe that you can do something then you can do it. If you truly believe that you cannot do something then you will not be able to do it. This is a simple fact that has been proven repeatedly through the years. When people can visualize something they want they can achieve their desire quicker.
Individuals that need to lose some weight will have a greater success if they visualize their body slimmer. They can use positive affirmations to create a confidence in their own ability to make the necessary changes and they will have a greater chance of losing the weight and keeping the weight off.
More than likely when you were a child you read the tale of the little engine that wanted to climb the hill. When that little engine used the positive affirmations of I think I can, I think I can, he did climb that hill. This explanation sounds very simple but it accurately describes how applying positive reinforcing thoughts about a difficult situation can create a successful outcome.
When you tell yourself that you can do something and you fully believe that you can do that thing your subconscious will also believe that you can do that thing. So when your subconscious is in control it will automatically keep you working toward the positive goal you have because it will believe that you can achieve that goal and that you deserve to achieve it. We do not fully understand our subconscious minds abilities as of yet, but the fact that we can convince ourselves to succeed or to fail through positive or negative thoughts is undeniable.
